Monster’s release is getting close! It’ll be released to Amazon, All Romance eBooks, and the rest of the general market on Friday, the 16th. To go along with that, I’m posting a teaser from the book every day this week leading up to the release.
There are more than just Fire Elementals and Shifters in the town the series centers around, and this little excerpt gives you a look at another race: the Incubi.
The man was absolutely stunning, which made sense, seeing as he was technically a sex god. He had to be a solid six-four, leaned back against the door of one of the drink-filled coolers that lined the wall of the store, eyes closed. The rich tan skin of his exposed chest seemed to glow under the fluorescents, and even with his aura more or less in check, I barely resisted the urge to reach out my hand and run it along his flawless body. But the part that really stopped me in my tracks was the guy blowinghim right there in the middle of the aisle.
I took a half step back, but the Incubus’s head suddenly snapped up as he took a deep breath. His eyes flashed open. The flecks of gold swimming amid the bronze mirrored his close-cut blond hair, and his irises glowed brighter for a second as his gaze settled on me. I stood stock–still with practiced ease, ready for a fight if it came to that. I may have been banned from using magic, but that left me far from defenseless.
The Incubus looked me over for a few seconds more, seeming to not even notice the man hanging off his dick. His head tilted ever so slightly to the side, and the predatory flames in his eyes smoldered. I’d never had a problem with an Incubus before, but then again, I’d never interrupted one in the middle of a blowjob, either. He opened his mouth, and I clenched my fists as I braced myself.
“Fire-born?” The Incubus’s voice dripped through the sweat-laced air, low and personal. Spells of shielding immediately strung themselves together in my mind, and I cringed as I had to let the marks die without materializing. Play by the rules, Syler… I refused to break eye contact with the Incubus, even when a particularly loud moan drifted up from the space between his legs. Without looking down, he wound his hand into the human’s hair, twisting tight. “I didn’t realize there were Elementals in Kelvin.” He tugged the man in front of him to his feet, dragging him off of his glistening cock then seamlessly moving his grip to the human’s chin. Magic flared in his gaze, burning its way into the man’s mind, and in the next second the human was staring straight ahead blindly. Before I could figure out what the exact spell had been, the man was pushing his way past me, walking like an automaton through the rest of the store and out of the door. He came to a stop about ten feet out from the entrance, blinked heavily and looked down at the bottle of water in his hand before shrugging and taking a swig of it.
What the fuck?
My brow furrowed, but the sound of the cooler door behind me swinging open drew my eyes back to the Incubus. He hadn’t bothered to zip up and he hadn’t gone the slightest bit soft either, and I pointedly dragged my eyes up from the throbbing beast to meet his gaze. The Incubus was running his hand over the selection of drinks in the cooler idly, brushing his fingers across the labels without looking away from me. He seemed perfectly content to just stare, and since I knew his aura could spike at any second and leave me a mouth-watering sex slave, I decided to start talking before he got bored with the view. “It’s my first time here.”
“Hmm,” the Incubus mused, looking me over for a few seconds more before turning to actually look at the drinks his hand was moving over. He settled on a nondescript brown bottle and popped the cap off with his thumb, a subtle show of strength that didn’t go unnoticed. Almost as soon as he had taken a swig, he was scowling, and in the next second he threw the bottle to the side and turned back to me as it shattered against the wall. “Humans still haven’t learned how to brew a beer worth a damn. Now,” the Incubus rolled his shoulders and rested back against the cooler again, his thick cock still acting as the throbbing, saliva-covered elephant in the room, “I suppose there was some reason you interrupted me?”
