Hi guys! I’ve decided I’m gonna do these vlogs every Wednesday rather than every other one. This ones talks about genres; the ones I’ve written, and wanted to write, and some of the stigma that I had to deal with for writing erotic romance. Hope you like it! If you have any ideas for topics, let me know in the comments!

And yeah, this one’s a little long… I’ll try to keep them more brief from now on.

Monster Thursday Excerpt

All right guys, last one. With Monster coming out to general retailers tomorrow, here’s one last teaser from the book.

Max bent up, keeping his teeth tight on my bottom lip and scraping the tips of his fangs across the sensitive skin there before letting it snap back. His cheeks were flushed as he looked down at me, his hair wrecked and down over his forehead, but his gaze leveled me with deadly seriousness. “Stay.”

His tone brooked no argument, and though I cocked my eyebrow, I silently conceded, keeping my hands above my head even as he pulled his own off of them and settled back onto his ankles, pushing his pelvis down onto my crotch in a move that had tiny fireworks skittering across my eyes and the air shuddering out of my chest. In the next second, Max was off the bed and headed for the door. I didn’t know exactly what he had in mind, but it was only with the hard–won concentration of a lifetime of Hunting that I kept my hands above me instead of wrist-deep in my pre-cum–stained jeans.

I didn’t have to wait long for my relief. The door swung back open then snapped closed as Max stepped into the room. He clenched a condom wrapper between his teeth, ripping down with his hand and tearing it open. The Shifter growled low in his throat, a visceral sound that made my chest go tight and my legs tingle. I tried telling myself that I knew what I was getting into. Kind of. ‘Ish. I’d been with Max before, pushed him in the past. But that had been six years earlier, and I could only guess at the changes time had brought. The Shifter sidled closer, staring down at me with a kind of predatory fire that would have had my Hunter guard up if it had been anyone else. With Max, it just made my groin ache even harder.

“I’m going to fuck you.”

Oh, good God…

The words were spoken with terrifying strength, low but unmistakable. Something in my chest leapt, and I couldn’t stop my hands from winding into the sheets below me. Max leaned forward, resting his fists against the baseboard, never once breaking eye contact with me. The outline of his body burned across my eyes. Every curve of muscle, every sharp line, stood out to me with a perfect clarity that should have been impossible given the darkness of the room.

“I’m going to fuck you like I’ve been dreaming about every night for the past six years, and I’m going to take my time with it.” He climbed up onto the bed, sensual and slow, moving himself above my own frozen body. I could practically see the wolf in him staring back at me as he prowled forward, his shoulders rolling and his arms and legs tightening like he was ready to pounce. He moved so that he was looking straight down into my eyes, the barest of smirks teasing at his lips. “And by the time I’m done, you’re never gonna want to run away from me again.”

My mouth was dry, my lips parted, and I couldn’t remember how to breathe properly. There was still time to back out. Time to fire off some string of sarcastic taunts harsh enough to make Max forget why he wanted to be with me, at least for a while longer. But as much as the thought of being with the Shifter like this scared me in some ways, I couldn’t deny the reassurance and relief that he brought me so selflessly. If nothing else, my own morbid curiosity wouldn’t let me leave without finding out if all the time apart had changed the way we fit together so perfectly. His clear belief in some future for us left me feeling sick, but then I’d learned over the years that optimism was a dangerous game—Max would see that before long, but for now, I wanted him, he wanted me, and that was enough.

The Shifter kissed me again, but this time it wasn’t rough and desperate, it was slow and soft and intimate, gentle enough to set me on edge given the fact that I still hadn’t been able to so much as touch my cock, and he was acting like we were bonded mates with all the time in the world.

Mates…

I dragged my tongue roughly across one of his fangs, sharp enough to draw blood and distract me from the terrifying prospect I’d just made the mistake of considering for a half second. This was just sex—it wasn’t forever, and I didn’t need to worry. But I didneed to get Max going a little heavier before my brain shorted out from the restraint.

The Shifter responded in turn as though he could hear my thoughts, slowly sliding down my body to a rhythm he set in his own mind. He laved kisses over my chest and down onto my abs, slowing to a stop just at the waist of my jeans. It took every ounce of control I had not to thrust up into his face, given the fucker was just sitting there, teasing me with his hands on my sides and his mouth just a few inches from my aching cock…

I hope you guys have liked this little week of excerpts! Monster will be out tomorrow, so be sure to check it out. You can read the blurb and excerpt on the publisher Totally Bound’s site here.

Monster Wednesday Excerpt

Monster’s release is getting close! It’ll be released to Amazon, All Romance eBooks, and the rest of the general market on Friday, the 16th. To go along with that, I’m posting  a teaser from the book every day this week leading up to the release.

There are more than just Fire Elementals and Shifters in the town the series centers around, and this little excerpt gives you a look at another race: the Incubi.

The man was absolutely stunning, which made sense, seeing as he was technically a sex god. He had to be a solid six-four, leaned back against the door of one of the drink-filled coolers that lined the wall of the store, eyes closed. The rich tan skin of his exposed chest seemed to glow under the fluorescents, and even with his aura more or less in check, I barely resisted the urge to reach out my hand and run it along his flawless body. But the part that really stopped me in my tracks was the guy blowinghim right there in the middle of the aisle.

I took a half step back, but the Incubus’s head suddenly snapped up as he took a deep breath. His eyes flashed open. The flecks of gold swimming amid the bronze mirrored his close-cut blond hair, and his irises glowed brighter for a second as his gaze settled on me. I stood stock–still with practiced ease, ready for a fight if it came to that. I may have been banned from using magic, but that left me far from defenseless.

The Incubus looked me over for a few seconds more, seeming to not even notice the man hanging off his dick. His head tilted ever so slightly to the side, and the predatory flames in his eyes smoldered. I’d never had a problem with an Incubus before, but then again, I’d never interrupted one in the middle of a blowjob, either. He opened his mouth, and I clenched my fists as I braced myself.

“Fire-born?” The Incubus’s voice dripped through the sweat-laced air, low and personal. Spells of shielding immediately strung themselves together in my mind, and I cringed as I had to let the marks die without materializing. Play by the rules, Syler… I refused to break eye contact with the Incubus, even when a particularly loud moan drifted up from the space between his legs. Without looking down, he wound his hand into the human’s hair, twisting tight. “I didn’t realize there were Elementals in Kelvin.” He tugged the man in front of him to his feet, dragging him off of his glistening cock then seamlessly moving his grip to the human’s chin. Magic flared in his gaze, burning its way into the man’s mind, and in the next second the human was staring straight ahead blindly. Before I could figure out what the exact spell had been, the man was pushing his way past me, walking like an automaton through the rest of the store and out of the door. He came to a stop about ten feet out from the entrance, blinked heavily and looked down at the bottle of water in his hand before shrugging and taking a swig of it.

What the fuck?

My brow furrowed, but the sound of the cooler door behind me swinging open drew my eyes back to the Incubus. He hadn’t bothered to zip up and he hadn’t gone the slightest bit soft either, and I pointedly dragged my eyes up from the throbbing beast to meet his gaze. The Incubus was running his hand over the selection of drinks in the cooler idly, brushing his fingers across the labels without looking away from me. He seemed perfectly content to just stare, and since I knew his aura could spike at any second and leave me a mouth-watering sex slave, I decided to start talking before he got bored with the view. “It’s my first time here.”

“Hmm,” the Incubus mused, looking me over for a few seconds more before turning to actually look at the drinks his hand was moving over. He settled on a nondescript brown bottle and popped the cap off with his thumb, a subtle show of strength that didn’t go unnoticed. Almost as soon as he had taken a swig, he was scowling, and in the next second he threw the bottle to the side and turned back to me as it shattered against the wall. “Humans still haven’t learned how to brew a beer worth a damn. Now,” the Incubus rolled his shoulders and rested back against the cooler again, his thick cock still acting as the throbbing, saliva-covered elephant in the room, “I suppose there was some reason you interrupted me?”

Tuesday Excerpt

Time for another excerpt from Monster. This one gives a little more insight into the protagonist, Syler:

“Syler Rike, you have been charged with breach of covert. Do you oppose?”

“Hmm… Lemme think…” I drawled, pushing the sleeves of my shirt higher up my forearms without looking up.

“Just answer the fucking charges, Rike.”

I cast a glance up at the table of the four ruling Elemental Council members. Eric Row, the representative for my own element, fire, was staring me down with rapidly waning patience. He was the only one at the table that I felt anything resembling respect for, but even that was minimal. A life of bureaucracy was a waste of any Elemental’s abilities, especially someone as skilled with its mastery as he was purported to be. My feelings toward the other three ranged from ‘couldn’tgiveashitless’ to ‘pleasejustchokeanddie, bitch’, but unfortunately my opinion on just about anything in this train wreck of a ruling wasn’t going to matter. I twisted my threads of power, working the marks of magic representing spark and flame into a tiny ball of fire that I bounced across my knuckles like a coin.

“Not guilty.”

Melanie Armin dropped her elbow onto the cherry-wood desk separating the four of them from me, a loud bang that she seamlessly followed up with a massage of her temple with two fingers. “Not guilty?” she intoned. The Water Elemental’s hand shook ever so slightly, the only betrayal of her body’s efforts to hide her furious frustration. It made me want to smile, but that would make it seem like I cared, so I contented myself with flicking the fireball over to my other hand and repeating the move. Her blue eyes seemed to boil under the bright lights of the Councilroom as she glared across the desk at me. “You vaporized half the bay!”

I leaned back in my chair and looked up at her as innocently as I could fake through my lashes. “An unforeseeable incident arising during the course of a dangerous Rampant’s apprehension. Exposure was unfortunate, but unintentional.”

The Earth Elemental, Adriana Dahl, rolled her eyes and tapped her pen impatiently. “Nice try, Rike. That only worked the first three times you were brought before us.”

I smiled with sickening insincerity, and the looks on the two women’s faces immediately confirmed that I was as deliciously obvious in that regard as I’d hoped. “I was under the impression that the truth was always the right answer, Ms. Dahl.” Melanie scowled, Adriana scrubbed at her face and the two guys just sighed emphatically.

Yes, I was an ass.

Don’t forget to grab the novel when it releases on Friday! Until then, you can check out the blurb and excerpt on the publisher, Totally Bound’s site here. Stay tuned for more teasers from the book– I’m dropping one each day this week leading up to the release.

Monster Monday Excerpt

Monster goes on sale to general retailers like Amazon and All Romance eBooks on Friday, May 16th! I’ve decided to make a week of it, and I’m posting a special excerpt from the book each day leading up to the release. Hope you guys like it!

First up is a little scene showing off Syler’s ex, Max.

When I got back out into the main room of the club, Max and Adam were both gone, and it took me another two minutes just to find someone else whom I could ask where they had gone. The bouncer didn’t have much going on upstairs, which didn’t help matters, but with enough prompting and a few ten-counts to keep from losing my mind—how fucking hard was it to comprehend ‘Where did the two guys you work with go’?—I was running out to the parking lot, where Max was already opening the door to climb into his Jeep. Adam stood a few steps away, seeing him off, and I shouldered him out of the way to get to the Shifter.

“What’s going down around here that has everyone so freaked?”

For an instant I noted that, if I was trying to convince Max that we could work fine together, I should have opened with something less abrasive. My general demeanor and combative tone could’ve used some work too, come to think of it. But I never had been one to fake it. Max rolled his eyes.

“Otherthan the crazy Hunter running around like a psycho?”

Adam snickered, but I was years beyond the point when Max’s comments had held any weight other than as ammo.

“Will said you’d tell me.”

I was taking a little creative license, but hey. The Shifter rested against the open door, crossing his arms. The leather jacket he wore strained plaintively as the motion stretched it across his set shoulders, and I slid my hands into my pockets.

Max’s eyes narrowed. “Will said I’d tellyou, or he told you to askme?”

Shit. The fuck had always been able to read me better than anyone I’d known. Of course, he’d still always missed anything that was actually important, hence why my leaving had seemed to come as such a surprise to him, but the fact remained that the few times that I’d bothered trying to stretch the truth with him, he had always had an oddly intuitive sense of it. Pissed me off no end.

“Does it matter?” I tossed petulantly, but Max was already scowling, coming up off the door to take a step closer to me.

“Yes, it does. There’s a pretty good chance of the one, and not a snowball in hell’s of the other.”

I stepped closer as well, noting idly that Adam starting running his hand through his hair and looking rapidly from one of us to the other.

“I can help.” Considering my first inclination was to say ‘Just tell me, you colossal fuck’ I thought I was doing pretty well. Max didn’t seem to agree. If anything, he just seemed even more pissed.

“No, you can’t. You’re a liability, and I don’t have time to be watching my back to make sure you don’t stabit again when you see your chance.”

Gold eyes flared, but my flames burned hotter, matching the rise and sending heat rushing into my limbs as I drew close enough to get in the Shifter’s face. “You’re really gonna try to make it about that again?” He was like a fucking kid who couldn’t get over having his toy taken away, and I was sick of it.

“Guys…” Adam took a step closer, but Max thrust a hand out to stop him in his tracks, magic flaring over his skin and into the air around us.

“Yes, I am. Because it matters.” His voice was rough, and he poked his finger into my chest. “Don’t fucking come out here and act like you give a damn about me, or about helping, because you don’t. You couldn’t care less whether or not you can help. You just want in on the secret because you can’t stand being left out of something, because in the end you’re the only one that matters, right? Your feelings. Your wants.”

Be sure to check out Monster when it comes out, or check here to read the official excerpt of the first chapter on Totally Bound’s site. Stay tuned for more leading up to Friday’s release!
